Homemade Hair Treatments

I am all about DIY. I was recently reading up on homemade hair treatments, and thought, why not give it a try?

I used egg yolks (disgusting I know) to get some more shine in my hair. It was amazing! Sure it felt really weird and kind of made me want to throw up, but after I rinsed it out, my hair looked like it was from a Pantene commercial!

All day, I was just like:

Here are some other ones I'm going to try, try them out yourself and let me know how it goes!

For some shine:
1. egg yolk, in your hair
2. let it sit for 20 min
2. rinse out with warm water
4. shampoo as usual

If your hair is reeeeal dull:
1. 1/2 cup sour cream or yogurt, in your hair
2. let it sit for 20 min
3. rinse with warm water
4. rinse with cold water
5. shampoo as usual

For dry hair: (this one sound really strange)
1. 1/2 cup honey, in your hair
2. let it sit for 20 min
3. rinse with warm water
4. shampoo as usual

If yo hair got the friz:
1. Mash up 1/2 an avocado, put it in your hair
2. let it sit for 15 min
3. rinse with warm water
4. shampoo as usual

Have fun with your fabulous new hair!

ASOS

I have been shopping at ASOS for about five years now. It is THE BEST online store for clothing.

Not only do they have cute clothes, but they have great customer service, AND free shipping both ways! It's perfect if you like to shop online, you can order two of one size, and then just send whatever you like back!

Here is the home site:

And for all my plus size ladies out there, they have an amazing plus size line called "Curve."

Check out some of the looks from the site below!

Bastille

I don't claim to know a lot about music, but I do know what I like. About a month ago, I ran across the song Pompeii by Bastille, and instantly fell in love with the cool vocals, moving harmonies, and awesome beats. I guess you could consider his music alternative, either way, he's super cool and after listening to his entire CD (that I had to order from the UK, so right about now I'm feeling extra hip) I have to say, I'm impressed. Take a listen to his song, Pompeii, below.

His EP, "Haunt" is available on iTunes, but he has a new album out, titled "Bad Blood."
I especially recommend it for fans of alternative music, but I think any music lover will enjoy it.

7 Stages of Grief: Game of Thrones "The Red Wedding"

If you watch Game of Thrones, then you know that Sunday's episode was about the "Red Wedding."

SPOILERS AHEAD. DO NOT READ IF YOU DON'T
WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED AT THE WEDDING.

They freaking MURDER Robb, Robb's mom (Catelyn), and Robb's pregnant wife (Talisa.) Along with their entire guard and a few other people that don't matter.
It. was. horrific.

To cope, we are now going on a journey through the 7 stages of grief. Let's begin.

Stage 1: Shock & Denial

 Stage 2: Pain and Guilt

Stage 3: Anger (& Bargaining) but mostly anger.

Stage 4: Depression, Reflection, and Loneliness

5. The Upward Turn

I think I'm fine, at least.

Stage 6: Reconstructing and Working Through

Stage 7: Acceptance & Hope

But I still actually feel like this,

Dogs That Can't Even Handle It Right Now

In addition to my many hobbies, I am also an excessive "stumbler," as in I use stumbleupon.com pretty regularly. Users are able to "stumlbe" or browse their interests through the site. I have found a ton of amazing things and I highly recommend you get an account.

Here is something funny I found recently, titled "24 Dogs That Can't Even Handle It Right Now."
Hopefully it will give you a good laugh. :)

Maxwell

I figured I would start off by noting that I love animals. Since I am a college student, I figured a cat would be the best option for me. For my 22nd birthday, my parents surprised me with a note saying that I would be allowed to pick out a kitten from my neighbors litters. (Long story short, I cried with happiness. It's embarrassing.)

My neighbors raise ragdoll cats. They are the most ridiculously cute things you will every see. SERIOUSLY. You are probably going to puke.

Check them out here, you will die: http://www.littleappleragdolls.com/litters.php

So anyway, I picked out a kitten, named him Maxwell, and have been in kitty heaven ever since.

He's a chubby little blue-eyed booger, but I love him.
If you have an instagram and feel like being bombarded with everything Max, here is his web page:

Raspberry Chipotle Black Bean Dip

This recipe has been a hidden treasure in Manhattan, KS for a while now. Originally served at So Long Saloon or Taco Lucha in Aggieville, this dip is PERFECT for parties, get togethers, graduation, and just plain eating.

Seriously, you need to try it. The mix of salty and sweet will make your mind explode with happiness. Side note: raspberry chipotle sauce could potentially be difficult to find. So try ordering from the Internet. If you're in Manhattan, you can get it at Dillons!

The Best Dip Ever (a.k.a. Raspberry Chipotle Black Bean Dip)

Ingredients:
8 oz. (weight) Cream Cheese
1 cup Mozzarella Cheese
1 (15 oz.) Can of Black Beans, drained and rinsed
1/2 bottle of Raspberry Chiptole Sauce (16 oz. bottle)

Preparation:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Soften cream cheese in a microwave safe bowl until soft. Mix the mozzarella cheese in.
Evenly spread drained and rinsed beans in the bottom of a 9x9 oven safe dish.
Evenly Spread cheese mixture on top of the black beans.
Evenly Spread raspberry chipotle sauce on top.
Bake 25 minutes (sides should be bubbly)
Serve warm with chips.

Note: some people will tell you to add onion. I say, don't waste your time. It tastes just the same with or without and it takes a lot less time to do it without. You're welcome.

Here is what it looks like at So Long Saloon:

Your dip will not look like this, but it will taste like this. Maybe even better!

Now go make you some dip!

I often find myself forgetting the important things. I don't want to keep a diary and I lose every list I make. So I thought, why not make a blog?

I am into almost everything. Fashion, interior design, food, animals, movies, beauty, you name it, I probably know something about it.

Follow along with me and keep updated on all things AWESOME. This is basically going to be a vast hole of unending (and probably unimportant) information. If I'm thinking it, I'll write it. Enjoy!

Peace and blessins,
H
